Bisley-with-Lypiatt Twinning Association members visited their twinned village, Plessala in Brittany, during a weekend in June.

Using an overnight ferry, members of the association travelled to Plessala, visiting historical Sainte Mére Église, and the medieval town of Dinan.

The group offered Gloucestershire wines as gifts, with the help of Richard and Laura from Stroud Wines.

During their stay, residents enjoyed visiting La Poète Ferrailleur, an eco-museum with working sculptures made from scrap iron, and finished the day drinking with their French hosts.

A day at the seaside and an evening of traditional Breton dancing was their Sunday entertainment.

The association has kept in touch for 32 years now and plans to welcome the French half of the association to Bisley in 2026.

New members are welcome to join the association by contacting John Hughes at mail@jmhughes.plus.com
