My sister turned 30 a couple of weeks ago, so I wanted to treat her to a nice bottle. I promise you, I told her to take it home and open it when she wanted to, but she insisted we drink it together. As expected, it was remarkable. Decanted for about ~40 minutes before drinking. Classic nose of bacon fat, iodine (blood), crushed violets, and bramble. Lush black and red fruit on the palate, with some earth and smoke thrown in. Full bodied and with a beautiful, silky texture. Very long finish—1:30-2:00 minutes easily. My sister enjoys wine but isn’t a wine person, but she loved it and was a very good sport hearing me drone on and on about JL Chave and Northern Rhone.

Holy smokes that’s young. I have a ‘14 I’m rearing to open any day now (just as soon as it cools down that is). Not surprised it’s a total banger
Agreed, very young. Buy another for the 40th bday. That bottling by that producer will be fabulous in another 10-15 years.
Had the 2021 a few months back, and it was very good. Sitting on a 2022 now, and I’m excited to open it.
Get your abortions in now before Republicans outlaw it, folks.
