2001 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese *
Golden amber in color this is showing some age, but not at all in a bad way. A wine of beauty with notes of tropical fruits, herbs, and sweet apples. A baking spice quality to the palate added the most playful edge to the wine. The palate had that creamy smoothness that you get with ages residually sweet wines that have reached a certain plateau of maturity. Very impressive and drinking beautifully now, which plenty of life ahead.
