June 27, 2025 (Sonoma County, CA) — Petaluma welcomes its newest wine destination, Montagne Russe Winery & Record Lounge, to the heart of downtown. The grand opening is set for Saturday, July 12th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce at 12:00 PM. In addition to offering highly acclaimed wines, the lounge will feature over 4,000 vinyl records for sale, merging wine and music into one experience.
Founded in 2015 after a slightly rebellious start in a garage (and a brush with the federal government), Montagne Russe, named after the French word for roller coaster, specializes in small-lot, single-vineyard Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah from cool-climate regions, with a strong focus on the Petaluma Gap AVA.
Owner and winemaker Kevin Bersofsky, alongside longtime team member Whitney Heleker, brings Montagne Russe to Petaluma following four years in Healdsburg’s Bacchus Landing. They are excited to bring their Petaluma sourced wines to the downtown scene.
The tasting room hours will be:
Sunday & Monday: 12 PM – 6 PM
Closed Tuesday & Wednesday
Thursday – Saturday: 12 PM – 8 PM
Montagne Russe stays true to their love of dogs and will remain dog-friendly. They hope to support their neighboring food establishments. Guests are welcome to order take-out food from Montagne Russe’s partnered restaurants and delis to enjoy alongside their wine.
Join Montagne Russe on Saturday, July 12 to raise a glass and celebrate their new beginning in Petaluma. Walk-ins are welcome, but guests are kindly encouraged to reserve a free ticket in advance at www.russewines.com/events to help them prepare appropriately for the celebration.
