It’s a beautiful day for the city of Wichita. N&J Mediterranean Bar & Grill has finally opened a second location.
The restaurant who has their 34-year-old flagship store at 5600 E. Lincoln did something many people would have never thought would happen. Open a second spot in west Wichita.
N&J Mediterranean Bar & Grill took over the original home of The Sweet Spot at 8448 W. Central and is ready for business.

N&J Mediterranean Bar & Grill had a public soft opening the two days leading up to Friday’s grand opening.
Inside, it’s pretty open with lots of natural light coming in.
One of my favorite things I enjoy at restaurants is watching the food be prepared. There’s an open kitchen at N&J so you get to watch everything unfold.
Another difference with the west location is the full bar with a craft cocktail menu (found at the end of the blog). N&J will also carry kombucha from Apollo Fermentations.
There’s also plans to open a patio and a private room that is expected to hold roughly 40 people. The room can be booked for meetings, private events, or parties.
Otherwise, the menu is the same as the original N&J Cafe space. You’ll find soups, salads, appetizers, and all the favorites.
My meal started with some hummus. While there, I received a text message to make sure I ordered a large hummus to bring home, which I did.
I ordered one of the entrées which came with a side of either salad, cup of soup, hummus, or baba ghanouj. I opted for the latter and loved it. When given the option between hummus and baba ghanouj, I typically go for the latter. There’s something about the smoky flavor that keeps me coming back for more.
Then for my main entrée, I had the shawarma platter with chicken. It came with sautéed red onions, tomatoes over rice and topped with tahini sauce. This is living folks.
It’s a dish I could probably eat once a week and hell, I might now that this location is closer to my house. Just a very savory, heavy meal that gave you a bit of everything in each bite.
I’ve made it no secret that I’m a huge fan of N&J. Years ago, I used to live a few blocks away from their Lincoln location, and it would be a frequent stop for me. Now that this one is closer, I can see many more visits in the future.

Happy Dining,
Eddy
