Spent 2 hours cleaning her up this afternoon. The lower charcoal grate needs replacing, and the table is cracked a little around the 2 outside screws. But overall, in great shape. Any thoughts on how to remove the creosote buildup around the lip of the lid and base? Wondering if I took the torch to it, then hit it with a wire brush?

I have the same one. They’re awesome. The propane starter is great to get it going quick. Just got done doing a tenderloin on it that turned out fantastic.
so good
A gen1 Performer! It appears to be in great shape! I had mine for years, but never covered it and got a rust hole in the kettle. I have a gen2 now with a nice cover.
That looks great. I’d spend $60 on that any day
What a steal… I’m still keeping an eye out for something like this in my area.
Just get the gasket and then you don’t have to worry about cleaning up the creosote
Thats a lucky find! I just got my first grill and broke down and got the basic 22in kettle for $150 and only used it twice and the next thing on my list is a small folding table to set things on.
It’s a good buy, but be aware that the plastic table can stain.

Awesome! I have the first edition Performer and I looooooove it!
Great buy! Have fun cooking on it
Use citrusafe, 0000 steel wool, and if you have it, a old BBQ daddy.
I also bought a used performer deluxe last weekend and using the combo above left it like new.
Super sexy!
Nice score!!
I used a wire wheel to break up the creosote build up on mine. Didn’t use heat but it could help.
Amazing find
