Capo Italian Deli officially opened its doors Tuesday in downtown Annapolis, bringing its signature hoagies and Italian desserts to Anne Arundel County for the first time. The new shop, located at 139 Main Street, takes over the space formerly occupied by Jimmy John’s, which closed in early 2024.

The opening marks Capo Deli’s second location in Maryland and expands its growing footprint in the greater Washington, D.C. region. Founded in 2017 by restaurateur Brian Vasile, the brand is known for its creative mix of classic Italian fare and regional sandwich favorites.

Capo’s menu includes a wide range of hot and cold hoagies, from cheesesteaks and grilled chicken to chicken alla vodka and Cubans. The dessert case features staples like cannolis and tiramisu alongside newer offerings such as Oreo mousse and banana bread pudding.

In a nod to the local community, the deli also serves coffee from Hook’Em Right Coffee, a veteran-owned company based in Annapolis and founded by a retired Marine.

During its opening week, Capo Deli will operate from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with hours expected to expand in the near future.

The Annapolis location joins Capo’s other restaurants in Potomac, Alexandria, Tysons Corner, and two neighborhoods in Washington, D.C.—Shaw and Western Market.
