This is a sample size of 1, so YMMV.

We had used the original 900W Bluetooth Anova (with the scroll wheel) for years before it finally died, and we bought the [base Anova](https://anovaculinary.com/anova-precision-cooker/wifi/) as a replacement. We got it and did a 24hr cook, and my SO immediately said we had to get rid of it due to its droning whine. The noise didn’t bother me, but it obviously drove him crazy; looking at reviews, it seems to be a common complaint.

With trepidation, we returned the base Anova and bought the [Anova Pro](https://anovaculinary.com/anova-precision-cooker/pro/) (currently on flash sale so it’s competitive with the base Anova). I’m happy to report that it’s definitely quieter than the base Anova. It done drone a bit, but at a less annoying (to us) pitch. After a 24hr cook, it seems to have gotten even quieter.

So if the base Anova’s noise drove you batty, I think the Anova Pro is worth a shot if you buy it from a retailer who has a generous return policy.
