Personally a fan of vine ripening, but do pick them if you have pests or if you’re going to experience really volatile weather soon (sudden downpour of rain/abhorrent amount of sun)

There is science to back up the claim that once they hit the breaker stage, you can pick with no loss to taste. So once they start to turn I always pick and let ripen inside.
