    Now that’s what I’m into.
Wide variety with clear geographical designations. Awesome.

I love going to GCOB but their oyster selection is milquetoast at best and offensive to anyone who love NY oysters. Sitting in the literal beating heart of NYC they should be the showcase for the excellent oysters grown right in their own back yard. But no. They have a single NY oyster on the menu, Peconic Golds (excellent oysters btw) and most of the others either needed a passport or a plane ticket to get to NYC. The blue points from Connecticut are improperly labeled, only oysters from Long Island’s Great South Bay may legally be called Blue Points. Copps Island harvests their oysters from the Connecticut side of Long Island Sound. Grrr.

I’ve heard you can tell where the oysters are from, even in the same species. Is that true?

I don’t like em but people love them so I feel like I’m missing something. Trying to like them.

  4. I’m currently vomiting and shitting my brains out from some bad oysters I ate on Saturday. Would still eat.
