I love this stuff, especially in the cream. But for me it’s really good for a few days and then I get sort of tired of it. Then I throw it out and buy it again months later and again it’s really good for a few days and I just never finish a jar it seems like so I always get the small jars.

Growing up that was always a New Year’s eve treat. Love it!

Yum yum!…I had some in my lunch today. Not the usual slices, but little cross sections.

Love that stuff. They always had a bowl of it along with other Hors d’Oeuvres and shots of liquor and wine at my synagogue after every Saturday morning service. I ate it to try to fit in with the old timers from Europe and Israel. I grew to love it, and now I enjoy the taste along with the memories!

I was nervous about buying it the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It was milder than I thought it would be.

Love pickled herring. There are better brands, though.

This ginger herring is my current favorite—so great.
Weird. Sweet. Salty. Fishy. Firmer than you would expect. A cherished Christmas Eve tradition in my family and one of the best foods you can put on a cracker

You will have to search for this, in German and polish shops, but Bismarck Herring is the best.

What’s a comparable level of salt? Also what are the other flavors similar to?… I saw the one comment of salty, sweet. As someone who hasn’t had it what are the comparable flavor notes? I’m so curious about the flavor profile

I like to eat mine with boiled potatoes.
