I need help with the area where the metal grate is, that is the area designated for my XL Big Green Egg. The area is not big enough to keep it straight on for when I cook with it, but would like to be able to turn it sideways and open it all the way. Thinking of putting some sort of swivel under neath it so I could rotate it. Otherwise Im going to just get fine with it hanging over several inches.
Any ideas of some sort of swivel I could put underneath my egg?

or some sort of contraption that I could pull it forward five or six inches and then push it back when I’m done.

I think you can hire some help to solve this problem 😝

My kitchen might give you an idea if you build out the lower shelf for the BGE base to sit on and you shouldn’t have to swivel. My preferred solution. It’s safer and less hassle long term.
Or you could get an industrial weighted Lazy Susan bearing like the below link, cut a granite disk for the Egg to sit on and place the Egg on that to be able to swivel it. I would recommend a 1000lb bearing in Stainless Steel.
