Honestly, I always thought this was just a larger baklava, but at Al-Sham this weekend, another patron urged me to get this. And WOW this is now my favorite thing to get from there!
Baklava can be a little sickly sweet, but the cheese in this tempers that tendency.
(Also: I got the knafeh with a softer topping and pistachios, and I wish I had gotten the crunchier one…)
Looks good! Will have to try that next time. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been in this place a couple times and always get the knafeh. I had it the first time i went because the guy in front of me ordered it so i just repeated his order.
I will try this the next time i am there. If anyone has any other favorite things in there please let me know. I don’t know what anything is called.

I find that past a lot better than their kunafeh (there’s much better places for said pastry) and was my favorite thing there along with their Bird’s Nest.
