So I’m a little shocked and disgusted by what I found in my nespresso machine today 😭😭😭 as I was cleaning it. Earlier, I was wondering today whether those machines can actually be deep cleaned or not and planning to send it to the shop for maintenance (the machine is relatively new and under a year old). So I pressed the self clean button ( we use this button every 2 or 3 days) and Today, as I was wiping it clean afterwards this is what I found. (In the photo) Mind you that, we deep clean our home twice a week and maintain cleaning on a daily basis. We live in a building where routine pesticides are run for the whole building. But after today I am never drinking from this machine again 🙂‍↔️ wtf is this bug and how do you think it got there? I heard people say that mold can grow but never thought that there will be an infestation I’m soooooo disgusted, what is this insect?

Have you also been descaling your machine and cleaning out the old pod reservoir?

It looks like a roach and it probably crawled from your kitchen into the machine. I agree Nespresso machines aren’t necessarily easy to clean, but this isn’t the machine’s fault.

You can’t send a nespresso to nespresso’s repair for cleaning. It will come back in much worse shape. Bugs is bugs, they go where the food is. there’s nothing to eat in a coffee machine.

It’s a roach and it’s got nothing to do with your coffee machine.

As a New Yorker girllllll that’s a roach.

There is not a single roach in my home, we deep clean regularly, we never leave food out. The pod container is cleaned on a daily basis, the self clean button is used every 2/3 days. My pantry is cleaned on a regular basis, I am a clean freak and clean and disinfect my home on daily basis. I will be doing an inspection tomorrow and deep cleaning to see if there are any bugs hiding. Yet I am appalled by finding this insect inside the machine. How do these critters crawl inside? Yuck.

At an old apartment, I saw a small roach like that near my coffee machine. Fearing the worst, I removed the screws to deep clean it and found a few inside and an egg sac. Into the garbage it went. It turned out my neighbor had an infestation and the roaches came into my apartment from the shared wall via the outlets.

If I remember correctly, I saw some articles that roaches like small appliances like coffee machines because they generate heat and coffee machines have water. I taped off every potential crack or opening on my next machine to seal it from any pests.

Not to worry. They actually drink very little. But they do prefer the White Chocolate & Strawberry. They even prefer it to the gunk under the fridge. His poor relations have to make do with what they can get in the crumb tray of the toaster. But he keeps up with trends, and your machine got five stars on RoachFace.
