Pains to see how things have changed since Chef Kent has passed. The service when I went wasn’t great, but at least we had a lot of food and they were all really tasty. The location is top notch and I’m saddened that the quality has indeed seemingly dipped from face value without tasting the food myself.

Did they happen to keep the duck tagine? Or is it a completely different duck course now?

  2. that is unfortunate. ive been twice and had a great time but ive heard it has suffered since the loss of chef kent. it makes sense in my opinion. the first time i went was my most enjoyable experience and the second time i went was a bit less so but was still great. the loss of chef kent was devastating and i think running saga would be a bit difficult nowadays. the staff definitely loved him.

I feel it’s a lower end 2 star but still good.

Anyone else been since Chef Mitchell rolled out his new menu? Pics from ig confirmed duck tagine is gone. Also that dessert looks super weak

  5. I was there the week before fathers days and I had a fantastic meal. I go every year in the spring when I take my annual trip to NYC. The dishes are different and they aren’t serving family style anymore, but I took friends who hadn’t been before and they very much enjoyed it too. The service was great. I don’t think I can say anything I tasted was bland.

Edit* I had this menu that OP posted + 3 courses not shown.

Looks boring. 2 lonely tarts served for canapé is frankly sad st this level.

They have so many unique presumably custom service pieces for their communal sets, fluke flight, tagine, pastry service it’s such a shame for them not to be used

  7. Is this everything you had? Seems like you’re missing main dishes.

Perhaps some more info is nice. Why was it disappointing? What did you had?

What a shame, had one of my favorite nyc tasting menus back in the day

  9. Fwiw, Wife and I went in March and everything was great. Service and food.

Worth noting though that we had the vegetarian tasting.

It was more on the “fun” side of fine dining, and in terms of mind-blowing fine dining vegetarian food quality in NYC, doesn’t come close to JG.

    (Haven’t been to EMP yet).

But I am looking forward to the next time we’re able to get back to Saga.

Sorry it was disappointing for so many of you! 🫤
