HOUSTON — One of Houston’s two Original Carrabba’s Italian restaurants is preparing to launch a $1.5 million overhaul of its interior.

Rosie’s Original Carrabba’s at 1399 S. Voss Road has submitted paperwork to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, outlining plans to update all of its interior finishes in the 3,004-square-foot restaurant’s entry and dining areas. The refresh will include removing and replacing all of the existing light fixtures, flooring and millwork.

The restaurant also plans to repaint all of its dining-area walls, the June 28 TDLR filing said. TDLR filings are preliminary and subject to change.

The Carrabba family, which owns the two Original Carrabba’s restaurants, tapped Houston-based Giles Campbell Architects to design the remodel, per the filing.

The remodel project is scheduled to begin in August and wrap up in November. It is unclear whether the restaurant will be closed during the four-month overhaul.
