I haven’t tried the Mcconnell’s, top left and right Jeni’s or the Alec’s (before last night). I don’t remember the top middle Jeni’s. I know I’ve tried it before though. I got that for my husband. The PB S’more is like 8/10. I wish the pb cups were smaller. Probably same for the ice cream cake. Sometimes there’s too much thick icing swirl.
Now onto the alec’s. I don’t normally go for an all chocolate ice cream. But this one surprised me. I’ve seen people say this brand isn’t as good as the advertising makes it out to be. And I can’t say they are wrong after only trying one flavor. But this one I liked.
I’d probably give it a 9/10 honestly. The ice cream tasted like chocolate pudding. The fudge swirls were nice and there was a decent amount of cookie mix ins. It was really nice and hard to stop to save the second half for my husband.
I also didn’t know they have a little rewards program which is pretty neat since they are expensive without a sale.
Now onto the alec’s I tried for the first time last night. I’m not usually one to reach for a mostly chocolate ice cream. But this one surprised me. I’ve seen people say nothing they make is good and flavors are meh.

I’m so glad you enjoyed it! This is actually one of the only flavors of theirs I haven’t tried yet. I love Alec’s. Specifically their PB fudge honeycomb, and their strawberry crumble. There’s always some in my freezer.
I thought the A2 dairy they use was kind of a gimmick for lack of a better word, but it’s actually the only brand I’ve found that doesn’t cause stomach issues for me even when I eat their ice cream daily. Jeni’s and VL really messed with my stomach after a few days of consistent nibbling.
Also, I will always be partial to Alec’s because they did the kindest thing a brand has ever done for me. I celebrated my 2 years of sobriety in April, and I posted on this sub holding my 2 year chip and my favorite ice cream (an Alec’s flavor). They reached out to congratulate me, and sent 6 pints of their ice cream to my house for free. I’ll never forget that.

The Jenni’s pancakes is a FAVE over here.
That Alec’s flavor is my go to when I want something rich and chocolatey and the store is out of the usual favorites. I will make the trek across town dodging bad drivers for some of that unreal goodness.
I picked up a pint of the same Alec’s today after seeing all the reviews and I was pretty disappointed. Just seemed like a worse version of Hagen dazs triple chocolate fudge cookie.
I love the Jeni’s bay leaf cheesecake! New house fave.
I think it’s great that Alec’s uses A2 milk. I just wish they wouldn’t use gums. I buy Jeni’s, Van Leeuwen and McConnell’s because they don’t use gums.
