Christmas party appetizers
Start your Christmas meal with these scrumptious appetizers

Planning a Christmas party is a hassle. There’s so much to do but too little time. And on top of that to-do list is food.

A Filipino Christmas is not complete without the overflowing food on the dinner table. If you’re looking for something new this year, we got you covered.

To make it easier for you this year, GMA Lifestyle has compiled food items you can order online for your Christmas celebrations, either on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or any kind of celebration during the Holidays.

This is the first of the “Christmas Party Trays” series and for the first installment, it’s all about appetizers. These bite-sized dishes are the best way to kick-off any Christmas party.

Grazing Box

Ever since grazing tables became a thing, many Filipinos are now obsessed with beautifully arranged charcuterie boards. Thankfully, professionally styled grazing boxes can be ordered online.

One of the restaurants that offer grazing box delivery is Filipino-Spanish eatery Mrs. V Restobar in Makati City. Called the “Holigraze” boxes, these handcrafted grazing boxes contain a handpicked selection of cheeses, cold cuts, fresh fruits, and pastries.

Pre-made boxes are available but these boxes can also be customized according to customer preference, with prices ranging from P1,300 to P1,900. Order through the restaurant’s social media accounts: Instagram, @mrsv.restobar.

Smoked salmon with caviar

It’s like cake but made with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and caviar. This is also sometimes called a “smoked salmon pie.” Bizu Patisserie’s smoked salmon caviar is perfect for salmon and caviar lovers.

Norwegian smoked salmon is arranged into a round shape, like a cake, and topped with cream cheese with dill and a layer of black caviar. It also comes with crunchy bread slices.

It is available in three sizes: personal 3.5” diameter (P690), midi 6” diameter (P3,025), and grande 9” diameter (P5,100). (IG: @bizuph)

Tapas platter

A Spanish-themed Christmas meal is not complete without tapas. Tapas are Spanish appetizers usually eaten before a meal or as a snack with wine, beer, or cocktails.

One of the oldest Spanish restaurants in the country, Alba Restaurante Español, offers a tapas platter good for eight to 10 people for P900. The platter consists of the following tapas: calamares, rabas (squid tentacles), pescaditos (fish), croquettas de pollo (chicken croquettes), and tortilla Española (potato omelet).

Lasagna pizza bites

Mum’s Lasagna specializes in, well, lasagna, but the home-based food delivery shop also offers small bites. Its lasagna pizza bites are cheesy and savory appetizer that is perfect for families with young kids.

The Fiesta Size tray costs P1,200 and contains 42 pieces of the cheesy treats. They also have mum’s cheesy nachos for pre-dinner table snacking. Check them out on Instagram, @mumslasagna.ph.

Sushi

Sushi is technically not an appetizer but because sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and aburi come in small bite-sized pieces, they are perfect meal-starters as well.

Sushi Nori is a restaurant that specializes in sushi and they likewise offer sushi party trays. They have three trays: Basic (California rolls, tamago nigiri, and kani nigiri), Deluxe (BNY roll, crazy kani roll, ninja roll, sushi dreams roll, guardian roll, California roll, and tamago nigiri), and Premium (guardian roll, sushi dreams roll, OMG roll, cloud 9 roll, and Godzilla roll), priced at P1,499, P1,899, and P2,299, respectively.
