Mateos all day. Frontera as a backup.

I just saw another ranking the other day where Tostitos was the top choice so I could immediately discredit the entire tasting panel on that one.

Honestly after y’alls El Pato phase, which I had to try for myself, I don’t see a reason for jarred salsa to even exist. Just use can of El Pato with a can of your preferred diced tomatoes. Some come with peppers or other stuff. It’s canned so stock up on a few and keep them in the fridge. Just grab a lime you’re good to go. Buy fresh cilantro and onion to add if you wish. But for that type of style it’s an easy clap and you get probably 3 times the amount for the same price.

I love cumin in general but strongly dislike Mateo’s salsa. I think it totally overpowers the other flavors and makes it taste like cheap Tex-Mex (Taco Bell).

They picture nine salsas but only rate four?

I’ll always have a soft spot for Pace since I grew up with it. And the ghost pepper one they have now is soooo good. Mateo’s is really good too though.

My goto jarred salsa is Clint’s. The best from Herdez is their guacamole salsa.

Chi Chi’s restaurant style (not pictured) is the GOAT.

I’m from Texas and it bums me out on a certain level how much I like Green Mountain Gringo. Too bad they didn’t use it.

I find Mateo’s to be too liquid.

That being said, I’m also shocked at no Mrs. Renfro’s.

  9. No Mrs. Renfro or El Pato… what a bunch of normies

  10. HEB green sauce is the best jarred salsa. End of story.

I can hardly eat anything but Pace chunky medium salsa if we’re talking grocery store options.

Trader Joe’s cheap salsa is pretty good.  That’s my #1
