I am so excited! They aren’t 100% perfectly pollinated, but it’s so beautiful! I can’t believe I did this!

I always hear and remember the lady dynamite intro when i see “corn!” With the exclamation.

Those look like big lumps with knobs. Certainly they have the juice.

Which variety? My favorite from my youth is Silver Queen. My Dad grew experimental strains for Cornell through our cooperative extension. We kept detailed records on yields and such. One year a grey squirrel made a nest in a tree right near our garden and would steal an ear and hightail it to the branch where he couldn’t be shot. My Dad, a former 101st helicopter mechanic, set up a sniper post on the roof until he got him.

Looking good! I grew some Honey Select corn last year and I was blown away by how much sweeter and tender it was than anyyhing I’ve ever bought at the store. We ended up eating a ton of it raw, straight from the stalk, because it was just that good.
