My first time growing corn, largest plant I’ve ever grown all myself and I’m feeling quite proud seeing the silkies starting to pop out 🥹 just gave her a good shimmy to help the pollen reach!

I literally swung out my door at lunch yelling time to check on the kids! The ‘kids’ in question are my zucchini
Those are your babies 🙂 and one day, they’re gonna feed you and you’ll become their babies. Circle of life!

Of course, it’s corn!

I’m impressed! I have yet to try corn because you’re supposed to plant so much for proper pollination. That’ll be next year perhaps!

Oh! I love your babies and wish them all the luck! If you want to try to hand pollinate, you can snip the silks shorter to be even and rub the pollen across it for better luck for a fuller ear of kernels. Tedious, but some people (self included) like tedious tending.

Learn how to hand pollinate asap if you don’t already know.

Haha I’m proud of my cucumbers. They just grew their little “arms” and grabbed the trellis for support!

I’m just going to say this in response to your question, OP: I have 2 dozen corn plants, healthiest I have ever grown. In the last two weeks we have had 3 sudden massive thunderstorms.
The first storm left them all leaning but they stood back up.
The second storm, perhaps the worst I’ve ever experienced, left them all plastered to the ground, absolutely flattened. I spent the night gently helping them back up and getting all the water off of them. AND THEY ALL CAME BACK! Even the beans are wrapping around the corn again (it’s a 3 sisters garden).
Last night’s storm dropped 4 inches of rain and it looks like I lost my tallest girl to the water weight and light wind, snapped her in half.
What a tough group I have, but it’s only the second week of July 😭

Whose babies are these?!?

That’s pretty normal. It looks good.
I would recommend that you be a bit more proactive in pollinating though. Corn pollination can be tricky, particularly with such few plants. I’d recommend cutting off one of the tassels, and rubbing it on the corn silks. That’ll be a much more reliable way to pollinate than just shaking your plant.
I got a massive huitlacoche from some bad storms. Growing corn is fun. Try the Three Sisters next.

Totally normal, mother.

Warning…raccoons can smell when those tasty cobs are just about ready to be picked. Or maybe those little bandit mfers can read minds and know I’m harvesting the next day. Either way, watch out for the little buggers if you have them in your area.
