Falstaff Germany is expanding its management level and is focusing on competence: Romana Echensperger, “Master of Wine”, is taking over the position of Editor-in-Chief Wine.

In this way, Falstaff underlines its growth ambitions and the progressive internationalization in the DA-CH region.

Romana Echensperger has had an impressive career in the wine industry. As a former head sommelier in top restaurants such as the three-star Vendôme restaurant in Bergisch Gladbach and as the holder of the internationally coveted title of “Master of Wine”, which only 421 people hold, she is one of the most renowned experts in her field.

Her varied activities include journalistic contributions for specialist magazines, book publications and collaboration with well-known institutions such as the German Wine Institute and the Napa Valley Wine Academy. She is also a member of the tasting team at Lufthansa AG.

In her new role at Falstaff, Echensperger will set the tone together with Dr. Ulrich Sautter, long-time editor-in-chief of wine. Her focus will be on the wine-growing regions of France, Eastern Europe and Southern Europe.

“It is a great opportunity to further expand Falstaff Germany’s wine reporting and to set new, exciting accents,” says Echensperger, delighted about her new role.

Falstaff publisher Wolfgang M. Rosam emphasizes the importance of this new addition: “With Romana Echensperger, Falstaff Germany is gaining an exceptionally competent personality who will bring new impulses and great expertise to one of our absolute core topics – wine.”

With this strategic personnel decision, Falstaff is setting another example for the future direction of the brand.
