Ever since I found out you need to leave the icing to dry overnight, I’ve ended up having to leave the cookies for up to 3-4 days out in the open because I decorate a little each day. Is that too long?

Do you use a fan? That helps. I personally cover mine at night rather than air dry. You could also invest in a dehydrator if you notice a cookie is not as fresh if it’s 3 days.

Also for those lines – it wouldn’t need to be 8 hours. You could leave in front of a fan and add those after 4 hours. Stencils I would do 8+ but most other techniques should be okay.

I put mine in the oven (once it’s cool) overnight and they seem dry by the morning.

I felt the same way leaving them out too long. Once they are at least flooded though I feel like that keeps them fresher longer. I keep Tupperware nearby and will keep the naked cookies in there until I’m ready or if I have some flooded and dried but not ready to detail I’ll put them in there too with wax paper in between. A tip that helped me was to try to do the whole cookie at once. As in just focus on one design a day. I also use a desk fan so I can get to the next step quicker

For a flooded cookie I leave it out for 4-6 hours before covering. I don’t use a fan, which I probs should sometimes. Occasionally I’ll decorate at night which means I gotta get up mid- night and cover the cookies. But what’s 2 midnight minutes for a perfectly dried cookie 😂🤷🏼‍♀️
