The Savor Zone in Hawthorne Brings Italian Cooking Lessons to Kitchens Everywhere

A new online culinary school is now open for business, with roots in New Jersey and expertise straight from Italy.

The Savor Zone, founded by Italian chef Francesco Curci, has launched as a virtual cooking platform for anyone looking to learn authentic Italian cuisine, regardless of location.

Operating entirely online from its home base in Hawthorne, The Savor Zone offers live group classes, private lessons, and specialty workshops focused on traditional techniques, regional specialties, and classic Italian recipes.

Instruction is led by Chef Curci, a Bari-born restaurateur behind Hoboken’s Apulia, and Gino Rago, a seven-time world pizza champion and longtime culinary coach.

Classes cover a wide range of topics — from handmade pasta and pizza dough to seasonal and holiday menu planning — and are designed for both home cooks and culinary professionals.

While the school does not serve food directly, lessons also include wine pairings and full Italian dining experiences that can be recreated at home.

The Savor Zone is now enrolling students year-round. More information, including bios, calendars, and sign-up details, is available at thesavorzone.com.
