The cake cost €710. The bride complained to the baker but they didn't get their money back so they went to the press.
The story is all over the media in Belgium.

I want to know what it is supposed to look like.
Jesus Christ
WTF this looks like the baker let their 15 year old kid make the cake and then just shrugged “good enough”. This isn’t worth 100€ let alone 710€.
Is this the ‘after’ photo?
Wedding cakes from Wish look better
The local banana slug population must be devastated.
Serious question, if you said you wanted a white birthday cake would you be charged less instead of saying it’s a wedding cake? Because 750 is a crime
OmGoodness….what on earth is that??????? They robbed you guys. Atleast frost the monster properly
..
What are all those yellow growths ?
You could get that for half price from the supermarket here and it would still be too much.
Ahhhh .. yes. The famous drunken potato cake 🥔
I can’t believe someone that calls themselves a professional would make this, look at it and go “good to go”, and send it to the customer. This is peak IDGAF.
Is comes with potato?
I thought that was a weird seam, and was wondering why on earth you’d leave a seam. But they cut the cake all the way from top to bottom, and now I’m wondering why on earth you’d do that.
On the one hand, the profit margin on cakes isn’t as good as you’d think. I made my own wedding cake (5 tier, 100 people worth) despite having very little cake experience, and the materials alone were probably $150, not to mention 15+ hours of labor. On the other hand, mine looked better than this.
this is up there with the $700 vegetable ramp from /r/kitchenconfidential
How do they fail to ice the whole thing? And wtf, above all else, were they thinking when they randomly cut up mangos with zero consistency and just dumped those huge pieces of fruit on the cake? They could minimally have cubed them a little evenly if they were incapable of artistic carving. That thing needs to be posted on a review for the baker.
What’s 710 whatever’s in normal bux?
it looks like cardboard
You’d have to pay me €710 to eat that
Well that’s a baker who isn’t getting any jobs ever again

>Wedding cake at a Belgian wedding, costs €710

Thats no where near the price the divorce is hoing to cost. Hey dont buy a wedding cake if you want a cheap cake 🤷.
This looks like a school project that was started the morning it was due.
Name and shame the baker for Christ sake
This looks like what would happen if I tried to make a wedding cake. I am not a professional baker.
First looking I thought this was some dumb artisanal shit
I wouldn’t pay 100$ for this cake let alone 710
Move the decimal to the left two places.
I like how they didn’t try cutting the fruits evenly.
Refund
Quantity over quality?
Oh wow.
