Mediterranean restaurant Botor Village has closed in downtown St. Cloud after three years in business.

The restaurant, located at 711 W. St. Germain St. posted a sign reading “Sorry we’re closed” on its front door.

It also has a sign in the window with contact information for renting the storefront, which says it is seeking a “creative connoisseur.”

Botor Village did not respond to the St. Cloud Times’ requests for comment about the closure.

Local resident Mohamed Abdi, opened the restaurant in 2022. At the time he said he saw the eatery as a way to revive St. Cloud’s downtown.

The restaurant served both Mediterranean and traditional Ethiopian meals like shawarma, kabobs, sambusa, bur and gyros, with the hope of being a community gathering space.
