ENFIELD, CT — A long-awaited niche food market has arrived in Enfield, as Italian meat specialist Trolio’s Market has opened its new location at the 323 Hazard Ave. storefront occupied for many years by a Subway franchise.
On a social media post announcing the shop’s imminent arrival in the spring, the owners wrote, “Get ready to embark on a culinary journey through the flavors of Italy right here in your neighborhood! Come experience the deliciousness at Trolio’s Market, where we offer a wide variety of fresh made sandwiches, paninis and salads. Our deli is the perfect spot to grab a quick and satisfying meal, whether you’re on the go or looking for a leisurely lunch.”
Trolio’s features a fully stocked deli with a variety of housemade sausages, meatballs, sauce, imported cheeses, lasagna trays and more. On its website, it bills itself as “a haven for traditional Italian food lovers.”
“We are dedicated to preserving authentic flavors through our old world recipes and artisanal methods that have been passed down through the generations. Our commitment to quality and heritage sets us apart, ensuring every bite is a taste of Italy,” the marketing statement added.
Offerings include traditional favorites like Cappocollo, a variety of hot and sweet sausages and a specialty called “artisanal salami.”
Daily specials are advertised on the shop’s Facebook pageFacebook page. Hours are Sunday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shop is closed on Tuesdays.
