Any reason the unit is making this intermittent kettle noises? In an apartment it is becoming a pain in the ass.

Thank you for your picture post to r/souvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

Is the bottom of the unit touching the side of the pan? When I use a cambro that has a slightly sloped side I need to wedge something in there to keep it from touching or the vibration makes a lot of racket.

I’m assuming it’s either hitting the pot (can test this by putting it in a bucket instead) or it’s a heated clicking on or something

Is it deep enough? Just thinking maybe the heating element is not fully submerged or it’s not getting enough water flow due to the circulation holes being out of the water.

it’s controls the temp by switching the heating element on or off, there’s only full power or off, so it can start boiling the water surrounding the element before it switches off again. this is what you hear, its just a cheapo unit(i got the same with a different brand on it as a gift)
