I’ve been seeing more posts about burnt up grills and thought that won’t happen to me because I clean the grates and drip tray after every cook.

Well I decided to check under the tray to see if there was anything needing attention and boy was I glad I did. A couple years worth of pellets built up down there.

Usually clean mine out once a month or after few really long cooks.

Isn’t that even much ash? Also doesn’t having some ash prevent burns and keep heat
