Brisket
Pork Ribs
Turkey

Sides:
Potato Salad
Beans

Was left unimpressed by the sides. La BBQ, Interstellar, Leroy & Lewis, Micklethwait, and even Terry Black’s have better sides.

It was all delicious. Didn’t like having to get little ketchup cups for the sauce. I like to slather it on. Turkey wasn’t as soft as others. Had to cut with knife. Even Terry Black’s can be cut by the side of a fork.

It’s still the mythos of Aaron Franklin. Can’t go wrong with Austin, TX bbq. Feels like a lot of places have caught up in quality, and are making meth 96% pure while Walter White’s is 99% pure.

Go to Franklin’s. Get Brisket, Ribs and a pie. Wait 4-5 years to go back for a memory refresher. I’ll be due for a visit in another year or so

Yeah, Franklins meat is hard to beat. Sides are lackluster. Part of the reason interstellar and La BBQ for Michelle stars.

Over rated. Other better BBQ joints in the are. Blacks is my favorite

The brisket I have ever had, glad I get to live close to this place.

I went on a rainy/overcast Wednesday and got in line around 9:30- we got to a table pretty quickly. (This was maybe 8 years ago)

The brisket was truly the best I’ve had, ribs were maybe the best I’ve had, and turkey was delicious. I don’t like that much sauce, so I don’t remember much about it. Sides were meh.

The next day, I went to Terry Blacks at 12:45, walked right in line and had little to no wait for a table. It was 90-93% as good as Franklin’s, and the sides were better.

If I want to show someone the absolute peak of brisket, I’ll take them to Franklins. If we just want some bbq for lunch, it’s one of the other countless places that makes incredible bbq without the wait/hassle.
