Living in an apartment, it can be tough to find a suitable spot for my wine racks. I’ve just moved them to a spot along a solid wall which is perpendicular to a large window. The window doesn’t receive direct sunlight at all during the year (south facing in Aus), but I’m concerned about indirect UV reflecting off of concrete etc outside. Am I being over cautious or should I start from square one and find a new spot?

For long term storage I think its not dark enough
It is too much light for true cellaring, but bear in mind that most wines in shops get about that much light for weeks or months on end. So, if you want to cellar your wine long term you will need to find a darker, cooler spot, but if you consume what you’ve got on the racks regularly, you’re fine.
I personally would not store my wine in that much light. Maybe get a cabinet to store them there?
Yes
It isn’t ideal, but the temperature isn’t ideal, either.
Could you construct some kind of light barrier around it, kind of like a tablecloth skirt?
What’s your goal here? If all of these wines will be drank in the next year or two you’ll be totally fine.
If you’re buying premium wines and hoping to “cellar” them for 5-10+ years then it’s time to go back to the drawing board for light and temperature.
Too much light for me
If you want to age them then put them in a box in your wardrobe/storage.
If aging wines isn’t an issue then this is fine.
Unless your AC is at like 13C year round, it would be too warm for long term storage anyway. I wouldn’t worry if it’s all short term. But the light, temperature, and probably humidity would not be suitable for long term cellaring.
Also does that room get hotter than 20C? Heat isn’t great for wine either
As someone said, how long do you want to store these wines? Up to 3-5 years will be fine, anything else will be a huge risk.
