Hey friends! I’m trying to up my social media game (Insta: @heidis_cookies), and I need some advice for getting aesthetically pleasing pictures of my cookies! These are the last few sets I’ve done. I’ve tried playing with backgrounds and stacking/angles. I could really use tips on lighting, angles, and props!
And as always, any constructive criticism on my decorating will be greatly appreciated!

I’m a photographer by trade and [put this guide together](https://www.grayduckbakes.co/blog/easy-tips-to-improve-your-photography) to help other cookies. I’d love to know if it’s useful for you. Completely ad-free and to the point.
These look great! I struggled a lot with photography at the beginning too. Here are a few things I learned:
-Always photograph in natural light (I just go in front of a window) when you can.
-Have a nice background. I use a wood-grain looking poster board I got for like $3 at Michael’s, but you can play around with other options.
-You don’t need a ton of props, but especially if you have a smaller set, it can be nice to fill in the empty spaces. I use faux flowers, wooden beads, etc. but not all the time.
-I personally like to have a height difference to give texture to my photos. That’s not required but I just like it. I got some cheap wooden boards and use those, or sometimes a mini cupcake stand I got at Michael’s.
-Find a style you like and play with variations on that style. That can make your sets appear more like they came from the same creator (which they did!). I find it makes me more easily recognizable on socials.
If you want to check out my Instagram for examples, I’m @chickadeebakeryindiana . Your cookies are gorgeous and I wish you all the best!
Cute themes! Have you thought about using a cookie projector to get your writing more even/uniform?
