On a recent trip to Bordeaux, my wife and I made a pit stop at a McDonald’s and we were surprised to see the restaurant had its own little vineyard that seemed to be well-maintained. Really curious if this is owned by McDonald’s and what they do with the grapes from this vineyard. This was in the town of Martillac if I’m remembering correctly

How cool. Some friends moved to Bordeaux earlier this year, I’ll have to ask if they’ve been there.
I’d definitely be curious to learn into which, if any, wines the juice from those grapes ends up.
I don’t know what’s common in France, but in California it’s common that small vineyards like that are tended by someone that likely takes the fruit. Property owner gets a pretty vineyard and maybe some wine, someone gets fruit. Some neat results from that, like Forlorn Hope’s rarities.

Funnily enough—the oldest vine in Bordeaux is in one of the squares in the city and growing up the side of a McDonald’s!
