ROBERTSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) — A doctor has determined that Torilena Fields, who was accused of killing and dismembering her mother, Trudy Fields, is competent to stand trial.
The chilling case involves allegations that Torilena Fields shot, stabbed, and dismembered her mother last October.
Contractors discovered Trudy Fields’ torso in the yard while working at the home, and investigators later found charred body parts in a pot in the oven.
A doctor from the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center ruled that Torilena Fields is capable of standing trial. However, the defense has not yet received the results from its own evaluation. Fields is scheduled to return to court on August 11.
