First time growing Black Thais. Been growing Thai varieties for years and haven’t seen this. Not sure if I am dealing with a mutation where more of the flower became the fruit. Just checking to see if anyone else has seen this, but I plan on saving some seeds anyways. The chili pod shape is nothing short of looking like a partially peeled banana. Thank you, all!

  1. They look like lil octopi 🐙

Some kind of mutation causing the peppers to produce more locules, if I had a guess. Similar to tomato nose.

That’s awesome. If it were just one it could be spontaneous but since there’s more that seems like a mutation. Try growing their seeds over a few generations to isolate it if possible

  3. New pepper just dropped – overripe banana peppers?

I’ve seen this mutation somewhere else but I believe it is genetic and passed on to the next generation. Definitely keep growing it!!
