Unlike other frozen treat makers that require multiple steps, long blending cycles, or even re-spinning, the FastFreeze is refreshingly straightforward. Cuisinart says it’s as simple as letting your base thaw, at room temp, for 10 minutes then twisting a dial, pressing a button, and letting the machine do the rest.

It features five preset modes: Ice Cream, Sorbet, Slushie, Milkshake, and Mix-Ins — each designed to work with pre-frozen (like others, you should aim for an overnight/24-hour freeze, at least) bases.

The FastFreeze offers the same kind of versatility as the Ninja CREAMi, SLUSHi, and Swirl by CREAMi — but in a much smaller, lighter, and more affordable package.

At only 4.4″ wide and 16.2″ tall, the immersion blender-looking wand is compact enough to fit on a crowded countertop or tuck away in a cabinet. And since it weighs just over 4 pounds, it’s also super portable — ideal for summer getaways, dorm rooms, or an RV camping trip.

Among our favorite features, though, are the detachable half-pint dessert cups. Cuisinart includes three, and each one is perfectly portioned for a single serving. That means no sharing required (unless you want to…), and no pressure to finish a whole pint in one sitting. It’s a smart solution for anyone who wants to enjoy a treat without overindulging — or for households with different flavor or dietary preferences.

And while the Ninja models often come with a bit of a learning curve and multiple accessories, the FastFreeze keeps things simple. According to the company, cleanup is a breeze with fewer dishwasher-safe parts.

So if you’ve been eyeing a frozen treat maker but hesitating to commit because of size, price, or complexity, the Cuisinart FastFreeze might just be the sweet spot.

At just $120, it’s nearly half the price of some of its competitors…
