Hi pals – I got my second order for mini Minecraft cookies.
The customer wants them in these 4 circled designs. I have a projector. I think my skills are new but I am willing to sit there all day and make the cookies look as good as possible. I am willing to buy a $60 airbrush machine from hobby lobby but don’t have it yet. I’m begging for your wisdom, tips, tricks! Thank you in advance!

If you have the patience, you should be able to do these without an airbrush. IMO, it looks like it was printed anyway so it’s almost unachievable to get it that perfect without a printer. Take your time, you’ll do great!

  2. Which part do you need assistance with??
I don’t have an airbrush machine and to do the slightly darker green squares I would just flood the cookie green and then once it’s fully dry, I would draw the squares with a green marker.

  3. I’ve read that some people use a dehydrator to create a smooth puff on the royal icing….others say they just keep a low fan blowing on them to dry faster too….

I used a green edible marker for the different shade of green. You can also use green food coloring watered down with a bit of Everclear, Vodka, or a flavored extract and paint on the squares, it’s just more time consuming than a marker.

If you look at my post history, I did a minecraft order. I spent SO MUCH TIME getting things squared with my projector. I personally just did a base layer and second layer for the detail puffs!

I didnt worry as much about the little shading details some include but if I did, I probably would have used my edible markers after they dried!

Minecraft orders are the worst! 😂 they are so hard. But, I did develop a method I liked.

I drew a grid with an edible marker and piped the lines for the outside and the squares that would be different colors. Then I let the thin lines pretty much dry, but moved fairly quickly with flooding the squares. Flood the smaller areas first? Then come back and flood the outer areas. Happy to draw you what I did to make it work. It also took me like 10 times of scraping before I figured this out so I feel pretty good about the process. I also used a similar technique recently to do a multicolored disco ball.

  7. You can very easily do these with edible markers. You’ll get crisp black lines for the TNT and the little pig eyes. You can also get different shades of green and brown. Hand drawing would be the easiest way to go if you’re not confident or have an airbrush. You can get them on Amazon if you need them to be there right away, but I absolutely recommend Tweets Cookie Connection. They’re like the gold standard of cookie pens, and no one can convince me otherwise.
