I loved my electric cabinet smoker and was upset when it died prematurely. A few months ago I got a propane cabinet smoker on clearance. I’m not a big fan of propane grilling so I was skeptical of this thing. Holy shit it’s my favorite smoker now. Temperature control is so simple, I can crank the heat up as high as I want to if needed (such as to crisp-up the skin on chicken), and I can get the same smoke flavor as a wood fired offset. It sips propane when doing low and slow. I haven’t found a downside yet.
