Go for it mate, I stepped back into the kitchen before covid it was tough..but the experience is worth it. Not many can work both sides of the counter..you can really become a valuable asset to any hospitality business.

that’s not a thing you hear about a lot. you must have excellent work ethic and know how to get along with people. The glass half empty aspect is, maybe they’re just desperate for help, but, truly, as a kitchen lifer, I’ve only seen this a handful of times, and this is an amazing opportunity for you to make a career out of the gig if you like it. It should be the first story you tell in any job interview, even ones outside the industry, in the future. You were so good at FOH and knew the product so well, you got those BOH guys good tips if you’re tip pooling, and your boss sees something in you. Immense respect, welcome aboard.
