The festival returns next weekend on Hertel Avenue, just east of Delaware Avenue.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The annual Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival kicks off next weekend, and ahead of it, city leaders unveiled a new sign to celebrate it.

The sign now designates a section of Hertel Avenue as “Italian Festival Way,” in honor of the festival’s 50th anniversary. Organizers said this recognition honors the event’s roots and longstanding tradition in the Queen City.

The festival runs from July 25 to July 27 on Hertel Avenue, just east of Delaware Avenue.

You can expect traditional Italian food, cooking classes, and live entertainment.

The Buffalo Italian Heritage Festival returned to Hertel Avenue in 2022, after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic. Prior to that, it was held on Buffalo’s waterfront.
