Picked up two pints as they were on sale and I had a coupon for $1.50 off two…I recently reviewed one and here is the second.

Appearance: Looks promising upon peeling off the seal. The coloration of the base is from the honey, and there was a clear presence of caramel swirls. I only saw one or two small almond pieces, but their presence emerged significantly a few bites in.

Texture: The honey base is creamy, and the caramel swirls and almonds are the expected texture. The almonds lend a satisfying crunch, and this is coming from a reviewer who generally dislikes crunching on ingredients in ice cream.

Base: Honey ice cream is a great idea and it looks and tastes the part. I thought it was exactly as sweet as it should be—enough to differentiate it from a vanilla base and not enough to overwhelm the other flavors.

Mix-ins: There is a good amount of caramel swirls and a generous amount of almond pieces. They both taste good, but to my surprise, the almonds actually steal the show. They were flavorful, plentiful, and lent balance to the sweetness of the honey and caramel.

Overall experience: I chose this pint partly because of the image of a honeycomb on it, remembering a recent discussion on this sub regarding the difference between honey and honeycomb. There are no bits of honeycomb in this ice cream, but here is a pint that should satisfy those wanting a honey flavor. I can’t say enough about how well the ingredients in this one went together, and again, the almonds were memorably great in this pint. I would definitely reach for this one again.

One other thought about this flavor: In my location, I can’t get the fancy baklava ice creams that some of you (very luckily) have access to. This may be my closest option. I would certainly enjoy this flavor in any context in which baklava would be appropriate!

    Nice review!

I’ll disagree about the honey flavor—I don’t think I tasted that in this pint. More of an overall salty caramel flavor to me.

But I appreciate your thoughtful and well reasoned review, and your enjoyment of the almonds.

  4. You have to be careful where you buy HD ,if it does not turn and burn they’ll sit for a year and then they r trash
