Sounds like the verbal realisation of a burn out
Fucking preach.
Make her cry.
And then leave in search of a better job along with the entire staff.
Sheesh what is this from?
god what a fucking stressful movie, loved it to bits tho!
The dream to be able to finally say that. Unfortunately no boss I’ve ever had that deserved a chewing out like that would ever sit there quietly and take it.
Just wanna take the time to also say, take care of yourselves be it FOH/BOH. End of the year is just around the corner. Unwind, clear leaves and go out to do whatever that makes you happy. Burning out is something we overlook and only realise once we are actually resting. We all love prep and banging out a solid service but dont go 86’ing yourself in the process. Take care and love all of you fuckers that are also crazy/stupid enough to be in this industry. May your knives forever stay sharp & your beers crisp and cold.
I remember having this exact conversation in my head right before I decided to leave the industry after working for one too many wannabe restaurateurs that couldn’t tell you the difference between shit and Crisco
Bravo
Amen!

I do not understand how I knew she had an English accent before I unmuted
Thr most articulate ass chewing I’ve ever heard 🤣🤣🤣
I said it irl, this is how I crashed out before I left my last job.
I was so sick of management being petty and putting up announcements for everyone to see instead of talking one on one. what *really* pushed me over the edge that day was a spoiled 19 year old brat had the nerve to come in and lie and say that I didn’t do my job the night before when I had worked a double, an event that we were way overbooked for, AND I still made sure that everything was pulled and thawed for the next day despite using frozen meat all the way up until kitchen closed. she sent pictures to management and of course, our manager put up an announcement indirectly calling out the “night closer” aka ME, for not doing their job.
I was pissed and had the hardest time holding back when I went in that morning, and eventually just let the girl have it because I was so over the bullshit. she worked maybe 7 days a month and had the nerve to complain to our boss and get me in trouble? I was seeing red 😂 she ended up crying and everyone in the restaurant felt sorry for her, I walked out.
this is after months of bullshit announcements and petty gossiping amongst management and staff. that place was a mess and they were all blind to the bullshit.
I’ve had this crash out twice in my career, it felt good both times
Love you guys but maybe take it down a couple of notches and just make a sandwich or something x
I have done this. A couple times at a couple places. And I’m still shockingly employed by one of them because our trashy, three-chinned FOH service manager doesn’t even relatively have the pull she thinks she does. The only frustrating part is is that she’s still somehow employed by this company and is still “tRaInInG” servers.
I also cannot express how good it felt after I berated her to tears with her trying to start coming back at me that my one Soux immediately cut her off and said “[FOH Manager], shut. Up. Run the fucking food that you know nothing about, and shut…*the* fuck up. Now.”
Only thing unrealistic abt this crashout is that she was being so polite/articulate lol. Generally if im in the effin weeds and ready to lose it i am already in the shaking/yelling/swearing place.
Gotta watch this movie and series now.
fookin hero
I did do it like this & it cost me everything I had my hand in building.
Would I do it again? Maybe
I worked for a guy that would cut my staff on Mondays cuz it was slow, even though we were catching up from the weekends, which were super busy.
This would make my 86 list huge because I simply wouldn’t have bodies on hand to make food. Then he’d give me grief for being out of stuff. At one point he asked what was coming off the 86 list as I was leaving for the day because he sent me home. I told him I’d stay and prep, but I’d be on the clock. He started saying something about labour costs and I literally walked away from him, ready to leave for good. It was the alternative to giving him a speech like this.
He stopped me on the way out and told me the place was losing money. I gave him my sympathies, but told him respectfully that nobody works for free. I left soon after. The place closed a couple years after that.
This is today. Jfc I hate it.
I’ve don’t this to a couple FOH people who didn’t have a clue how restaurants actually worked and some boh idiots who thought culinary school qualified them to be shitty to people.
Is it the right way to treat your co workers? No. But does it feel good in the moment and do they FINALLY get the point? YUP!
Seems valid but a little unprofessional to have it out in front of the team.
Idk who she is but damn it I love her! She just taught that other woman so much truth and value and I bet all she’s thinking about is herself. If she had the slightest bit of “can do” she would listen up and take these words and turn them into success but it needs to start with listening and applying.
If you can’t articulate a point, get out of the fuckin window.
Who can stand to watch this lady try to squint hard enough that she will think of something to say? I don’t understand.
