Went on vacation with my father in law promising to keep up with the garden. Let’s just say he didn’t….anyone have some good hacks for getting this thing weeded and back under control quick? Some things I know I am just going to have to let take its course such as the cherry tomatoes which I’ve never grown before and didn’t realize were vining. Oops. So they can just grow their happy little selves wherever they want until September I guess….

On the upside, check out the harvest! And my squash/zucchini looks gorgeous. Even though I know I need to cut down like 89% of it

If you can buy some grass shears they are a huge help. You dont actyally have to dig up every weed with them, just cut the weeds short

OK Father in Law…. Gotta give leeway.
    I gotta better one!!!

I left my geology major (UT) in charge of plants. Had several NEWLY PLANTED trees, etc. needed a little TLC. Went to Norway for 2 weeks.

Never leave someone interested in ROCKS, cuz they aren’t paying attention. At the moment.

She has turned out to be a FABULOUS gardener AND cook, never used the geology degree😳😳

Weed whack. An hour later. Good as new.

I said fuck it and did raised beds finally and mulched the walkways. Thank god. I hate that feeling of like all the effort I’ve made is just gone by midsummer

Very nice harvest. Weed whack what you can. Cardboard and straw over it. Hard for me to yell if these are walking paths or actual food growing through.

Use a weed whacker/mower to clear pathways. Much better to see things then. Once that’s done get out as many weeds as you can grab – don’t need to get the roots. Then smother with cardboard. It won’t look pretty but it’ll keep the weeds down for the rest of the year.
