Hey there, decided to try something new and wanted to make my own pulled pork sandwiches. Thought I was gonna find a smaller size, but ended up with a gigantic 9.75 pound bone in pork shoulder butt. almost all the recipes are for four or 5 pounds, and they all say to do slow and low cooking. Because it’s so big I threw it in my slow cooker and set a six hour timer on high. Obviously a thermometer is the best bet, does anybody have a good idea of how long it should be in there? Will it still get that slow cooked flavor even if it’s on high, or should I turn it to low and just let it cook for way longer? Thanks everybody! Using the recipe attached as my starting point FYI.

5 or 6 hrs on low should be fine. Hi might dry it out. Wait til you can pull it apart with two forks. There should be a lot of liquid to pour off. I will do what I can to get a lot of the fat liquid out, then pull it apart, add bbq sauce.
