Etymon’s Loulou has launched in Martin Place. Brand Chef Ned Parker promises the new venue will have the “same soul” as the original Milsons Point bistro, boulangerie, and traiteur with “a new city energy”.

Etymon opened Loulou Milsons Point in 2022, with Petit Loulou – a café and patisserie – following in Martin Place in February 2025.

“We knew we had something special with Loulou in Milsons Point – a place where traditional French technique meets relaxed, neighbourhood spirit,” says Parker.

“With Petit Loulou opening earlier this year, bringing our CBD bistro to life at Martin Place feels like completing the puzzle. This space gives us the chance to honour classic French cooking while adding our own Loulou spin.”

The restaurant’s all-day menu offers a lighter take on traditional French fare, inspired by regional cuisine from the nation’s south. The decadent John Dory served with sauce champagne and the steak frites with a three day slow-cooked pepper sauce – both staples in the Milsons Point venue – are available.  Keeping things fresh and allowing for quick CBD service is the newcomer Sandwich Americain – a charred wagyu beef patty and frites baguette.

Etymon Sommelier Maxime Bellon curated the 350-strong wine list, which features French varietals from iconic domains like Domaine Dujac and Domaine Leflaive, and a rotating selection of rare and limited-allocation bottles. Australian winemakers are also celebrated, allowing the list to find compromise between accessibility and adventure.

Loulou is set to continue its expansion, opening in Sydney Airport’s Qantas Domestic Terminal later this year.

The restaurant is located above the Martin Place Metro at 1 Elizabeth Street, on the corner of Hunter.
