This Italian spot in Coral Gables has about a 50% success rate. There are 10 pastas on the menu, of which we’ve had four and can recommend two: the cacio e pepe and the open-faced lasagna. Nothing here is especially insulting, although they’re testing the limit on how often you can use endives as a garnish. There’s just not a very strong reason why you absolutely must come here—unless you find yourself in Downtown Coral Gables without a reservation.

Food RundownSpaghettoni Cacio E Pepe
Twirling pasta in wheels of parmesan cheese stopped being interesting five years ago. But we love how the cheese in this cacio e pepe velcros itself to the spaghetti. The big wheel actually works here.

Ravioli Ripieno Di Ossobucco
The ossobucco filling stuffed inside these raviolis is too dry. Skip it.

Lasagna Verde Aperta
It’s an incredibly thin lasagna with thick bolognese layered between two green sheets of pasta. What it lacks in height, it makes up for in flavor. It’s our favorite pasta on the menu.

Bucatini Alla Amatriciana
The red pepper in the amatriciana sauce is so overpowering, you can barely taste the guanciale.
