LYNDHURST, Ohio — The Lyndhurst Police Foundation, on July 19, partnered with the city of Lyndhurst and the Lyndhurst Police Department to hold its inaugural “Christmas in July” food drive at both Giant Eagle at Legacy Village and Aldi, 5144 Mayfield Road.

During the four-hour event, the LPF collected more than 2,000 pounds of donated, non-perishable food items, and just under $1,000 in money and gift cards.

The food items were brought to the food pantry at Garfield Memorial Church in Pepper Pike and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

The money and gifts cards donated to the foundation during the event will be used to help identify families in need during the upcoming holiday season.

The LPF stated that it looks forward to continuing Christmas in July as an annual tradition, and appreciates the kindness of the community for donations to the worthwhile cause.
