I'm not the most savvy seafood guy (I just go to Sammy's in City Island with fams occasionally), but Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co. was GREAT!

Went spontaneously with my gf after work at 5:15 pm so didn't expect much. Didn't have to wait to be seated as the place was not packed (indoor seating is small tho).

Got their happy hour (until 6 pm) half dozen oysters – it was so good we got a dozen after lol. One of their specials was soft crab sandwich – 10/10 (got 1 to share). Their fries are also top tier. After ordering the dozen oysters we got their lobster rolls – mine with mayo/cold and hers buttered/hot (cold roll supremacy!) They were great as well (9/10), def one of the best ones I've had in NYC. Forgot the individual prices but for what we ate plus 2 non alcohol drinks – $213.13 (20% tip and taxes included).

If anyone has any other recs for lobster roll in the city that are just as good, pls let me know. So far all I've tried are Luke's (not bad but pricey for small ass portions), Sammy's (sucks) and Burger & Lobsters (ok, but garlic butter makes it good)

Not top tier but the Original Soup guy on 55th and 8th has a $15 lobster roll and it’s actually pretty solid.

Just went here the other day as well. Their fish sandwich and crab cakes are amazing

looks tasty but basic as hell and insane margins for the restaurant

Not in the city, but very easy to get to is Lobster Garage in JC, it’s a short walk from the Exchange Place PATH or Paulus Hook ferry. Best lobster roll I’ve had other than Neptune Oyster House in Boston, and I eat a LOT of lobster rolls. If you want to stick officially to NYC, Pier I cafe’s lobster roll isn’t the best (but not bad by any means, they just use way too thick of a bun so the proportions are all off, the lobster salad itself is great), but it’s a nice place to sit out for awhile.

Check out shipwreck seafood boutique for their lobster roll/fish sandwiches. They’re all fairly priced and excellent with great portions. Snapper sandwich is special.

The bread isn’t fancy but the fish/seafood is amazing.
