A good chocolate chip cookie is harder to find than I expected. After years of trying practically every cookie I could, I had to do it myself to find what I wanted. I started with a modified toll house recipe that has been tweaked and adjusted in just about every way possible. Different sugar ratios, chill times for the dough, browning butter, playing with chocolate blends, etc. Cookies are far more nuanced and interesting than I thought when I first started making them.

These look great. I love a nice browned edge. And the salt…yum.
cookies are like the best video games. easy to play, hard to master. you can make them complex where it’s overly complicated, and you can do a recipe that was not even half the worked that you enjoyed eating just a smuch if not more judging by having ate 5 of them in seconds while the harder work ones you ate them sparingly.
I like my cookies almost too simple with just a hint of elegance, just that little touch, not overwhelming. it makes it less guilty when I over indulge. just how they should be imo

maybe it’s just me but those are begging for some crinkles! smack the pan against the counter a bit to deflate them right out the oven. That was a big game changer for my cookies
I understand people may not want to post recipes but I think it should be illegal when they look this nice.
