I recently quit drinking but my favorite thing used to be pounding wine and fucking around in the kitchen.
Sous Vide picanha, potato paolo, chanterelles I found in the woods while drinking beers, and mussels that sucked because I fucked them up.

Had to quit saucing too. My “rock bottom” was similar. Just me, drinking an entire bottle of wine, while cooking alone in my kitchen with a movie on in the background, every night of the week. It wasn’t a horrible life, but expensive both physically and fiscally and my mood was shit.
